It is recommended to take prenatal vitamins for a minimum of 3 months prior to conceiving for optimum reproductive and prenatal health. When I’m shopping around for vitamins, I don’t look just for the amount of iron and folic acid. I’m also looking for a multivitamin that’s easy to swallow, doesn’t make me nauseous, has all the vitamins and minerals baby and I will need, and is priced well. Morning Pep Prenatal is all that PLUS it has probiotics and only requires ONE pill a day.
The pills themselves are decently small, don’t have a gel capsule, are odorless and tasteless, and contain ginger root extract which helps prevent and ease nausea. The folic acid comes in the form of L-Methyl Folate which is the easiest form of folate or folic acid to digest. Did I mention they contain PROBIOTICS? (25 mg to be exact.) After trying this brand, I’m ditching the chew-able prenatal I had previously and will more than likely stick with this one throughout ttc, pregnancy, and post-natal care.
